Hugo e The Artist dominano i Critics’ Choice Awards

Procede come da copione la marcia di avvicinamento agli Oscar. Dopo i Critici di New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco etc. oggi tocca alle indicazioni dei  Critics' Choice Movie Awards, chiamati anche Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards o BFCA Awards, che rappresentano la Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA), formata da circa 250 critici cinematografici appartenenti alle principali testate giornalistiche statunitensi.

Due pellicole con al centro i primi anni dell'industria cinematografica Hugo di Martin Scorsese e  The Artist di Michel Hazanavicius conquistano il record di 11 nomination ciascuna nelle nomination per la 17a Edizione dei Critics Choice Movie Awards. Entrambe hanno ottenuto le candidature di miglior film, miglior regia, sceneggiatura, oltre ad un notevole bottino di candidature tecniche. La pellicola francese, muta e in b/n,  ha anche ricevuto le menzioni per l'attore protagonista Jean Dujardin e per l'attrice non protagonista Berenice Bejo. Mentre Martin Scorsese, oltre alle 11 nomination di Hugo, aggiunge quella di miglior documentario per George Harrison: Living In The Material World.

Seguono, tra gli altri titoli più gettonati con 8 nomination ciascuno Drive che cumula miglior film, regia (Nicolas Winding Refn), protagonista  (Ryan Gosling) e attore non protagonista  (Albert Brooks) e The Help (miglior film, miglior attrice Viola Davis, migliori attrici non protagoniste Octavia Spencer e Jessica Chastain, oltre a miglior insieme di attori). 7 Nomination ciascuno invece per War Horse di Steven Spielberg e The Descendants di Alexander Payne. Spielberg ottiene inoltre un'altra nomination per la regia del suo primo film animato Le avventure di Tin Tin.

La Premiazione dei The Critics Choice Movie Awards verrà trasmessa in diretta dall' Hollywood Palladium su VH1 il prossimo 12 gennaio.
